Small program that offer crisis intervention, a residential program and 25 day wilderness trip.

The wilderness trip has a two to one staff to student ration. Trips generally are held monthly, and size is limited to four participants. Field instructors guide students through a variety of physical and emotional challenges. Participants learn basic survival skills and environmental lessons while engaging in physical activities such as hiking, rock-climbing and canoeing.

Wilderness expeditions are intended to:

  • de-escalate adolescents in crisis
  • provide kids with time and guidance for self-exploration and expression
  • build self-esteem, confidence and problem-solving skills
  • offer families time to gain perspective on their needs and to research their options
  • support and educate parents as they make important decisions about the future
  • assess children's emotional, psychological, educational and residential needs
  • help educational consultants facilitate appropriate post-trip placements of participants.
